'07 Tahoe rear window molding broke again
Today, I noticed that one of the rear windows has a brokenmolding. This is the hockey-stick molding that's now famous for breaking on the new Tahoes. I've already had the first ones on both rear doors replaced by the dealer. That was about 5 months ago. Has Chev really fixed these poor designs or am I continually going to be replacing these moldings every 5-6 months?
The updated part works well, chances are your's were replaced using the old part or improperly installed or there is also the outside chance that you are a gorilla and no matter what you will keep breaking the darn things.
Ha...ZX, if I hadn't been following these forums a long time, I'd take you seriously. No, the Tahoe is mainly driven by the wife -- no offroading. It's likely that the dealer used the old part number to replace it. It's funny, I found out about the commonality in the '07 Tahoes breaking those window moldings on this forum before the dealer had any clue about it. Do you know what the part number is for the updated part? I just want to make sure that when I take the Tahoe back to the dealer they use the new part.
Ah someone with a sense of humor too.
The new design updated part numbers are:
The left side molding is GM part #15938032
The right side molding is GM part #15938033
They are a bit tricky to install correctly.
