Possibly looking to upgrade my stock exhaust, not really for performance but I just love the sound of a good exhaust. Anybody have any recommendations? I might just replace the muffler with a flowmaster or dynomax. I was curious as to what the muffler looking device near the rear is. A friend told me it was a resonator. He might be full of it so I'm asking you guys. Also is it necessary to have it on ? Thanks

 

It is a resonator on the end of the exhaust pipe. You might try the SLP dual tip resonator replacement. It increases the burble at idle and is a little louder under hard acceleration but unnoticeable at cruise. The V4 mode is a wee bit more noticeable but since the mode is never activated under throttle, you'll never notice it.

 

I have a borla pro xs 1in 1out on mine and I'm very satisfied . Personally I wouldn't go with flowmaster
