Angry 09 Tahoe LT Issues

First time poster and first time Tahoe owner.

Wife and I bought an 09 GM Certified Pre-owned Tahoe from a Chevy Dealer here in College Station, TX back in late October. 1 day after we mailed in our first payment in early December, the issue started.

We started hearing a sputtering sound coming from the engine whenever we were decelerating that continued to get worse. 2 days later, we were sitting at a stop light and the Tahoe lurched forward and all of the sudden bells were going off, message center said Service Stabilitrak, Service Traction Control, Engine Power Reduced and the engine sounded like it was struggling to run. Called OnStar and they ran diags. It came back that the throttle body or some O2 sensor associated with it was malfunctioning. I limped it to the dealer and 2 hours later they called me and said it was fixed, that they had cleaned the throttle body and sensor.

2 weeks later, we started hearing the sputtering sound again. Proactively, I took it up to the dealer and they came back and said that they couldn't find anything wrong. 5 minutes after I drove away from the dealer, the Service Engine Soon light came on. Of course the dealer was closed at this time. Called OnStar...same thing. Took it back in the next morning. They cleaned the flashing from the sensor again, and flushed something. They also balanced and rotated the tires thinking that was the sputtering sound I was hearing. Next day, the sputtering sound started happening again...while stopped at a light...yeah, not the tires.

Christmas day, the engine power reduced, stabilitrak, and traction control stuff happened again. Took it in this morning, very upset...they could tell as soon as I walked in the door. Gave the keys to the service desk, went and found the salesman that sold us the Tahoe and he almost fell over in disbelief. Told me that if it didn't get fixed this time to let him know and he would talk to the owner of the dealership about our options.

I'm about to squeeze this thing into a glass with some ice and sugar and have a tasty lemonade....

First and foremost, I am sorry to hear your situation. While your vehicle is still under warranty, it is a pain to have to keep going back to the dealership to resolve hour situation. Nonethess, thank god for warranties.

I'm not sure that Lemon Law would apply to used vehicles. If the dealership allows you to switch to another certified Tahoe, then luck is on your side. I feel that this will be an effort to keep you, the client, satisfied.

I hope that your situation gets resolved quickly and in your favor.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like they will do the right thing but time will tell. Good luck and keep us informed of the outcome.

ya very easily could be electrical - not a good thing but a simple bad connection is all it would take to make this thing crazy

The dealer is trying to make things right. They set me up with a rental while a new throttle body is on order. I hope this fixes the issue...I sure do love my Tahoe. I'll post back with the results.

Default rental

Don'T LEAVE ME HANGIN'

also; what rental?

I bought a TAHOE to pull my boat, jeep, people, etc. and it has the GPS because my JOB requires one...

they gave me a POS lumina then the rental place (Enterprice) tried to screw me for $50 for a nick in a fog light, when the car was dirty inside and out when I picked it up, came with 1/8th tank of gas, had trash from the previous user, AND smelled of smoke inside and out, as well as the interior was STICKY. No towing, NO GPS.

AND they tried to screw me. I got an appoligy letter, and didn't lose a penny. The last company that tried to rip me off, i got 20% off the items and a $15 gift card... speaking of which Target pissed me off a few nights ago... time to make some calls...

On the other hand, Fidelity has the BEST customer service... it's #1 in my book (no I don't work there)... #2 is Discover, those people are SO friendly and helpful.

Also, Chic-Fil-a... that place is very friendly.

I only battle companies that try to screw people...

anyway; GM cut me thousands in checks for my Tahoe...

Hope you have good luck, else let me know, I enjoy the fight...

Whatever happend to that Jeff guy? The one who worked for GM who would never really help, couldn't answer any real questions (when I or other members could)...? did he give up? Did GM realize they can't do social media worth a damn?

Yours sounds like some of the problems I am having with an 07 LT Tahoe. See the theard associated with "2007 Tahoe has lost its mind". I have been dealing with this issue for 2 1/2 months now. Dealerships cant' figure it out (2). and GM customer service is no help. I am disgusted...........
