'16 Tahoe LTZ Headlight Condensation
Hi all,
I hope I posted this correctly. I have the above truck in the title. The passenger side headlight had some condensation in which I think was causing the automatic high beam feature to not work. I was able to access the headlight all the way to the bulb and used a hair dryer to remove the condensation. All went great! Now after one day of driving the condensation has returned. No rain or car washes since either. Anyone have thoughts on why or ideas on how to stop the water from building up? Thanks for any help.

Even after evaporating all that moisture, it's probably still all sitting inside the enclosure in vapor form then recondensed when the air temperature lowered at night.
There's most likely a crack or leak in a seam somewhere allowing the water to enter in the first place. I've actually seen this in several of the newer body style suburban and tahoes so they might have a manufacturing defect. You'll have to take it out and leak test it to find where the water has been entering.
I had an issue with my right rear light housing filling with water. I'd drain it and it would fill up again after rain. I finally took it out and submerged it in water until I found the entry point. There was a tiny crack that was barely visible. I took a soldering iron to it and sealed it up. Problem solved.

Hi again! So I tried my best to remove the headlight but got a little stuck. It’s on the passenger side. I got as far as being able to replace the bulb. I’m having trouble finding steps to actually remove the Headlight itself so I can get diagnosed the problem as you mentioned. The driver side light looks easy to remove but the passenger side has a few more things going on that I’m nervous to pull apart for fear of ruining something else. Does anyone have a guide or something that could walk me through taking the whole light out? Thanks for all the help!
