It cranks over and when I turn the key off it trys to start slowly. Around 3 times. The check engine light is on but I can't get it to a parts store to read the codes. Not really sure what is going on. TIA

 

Bought this scanner and it won't turn on. I tried it on my 2000 Dodge caravan and it worked fine. Does my 1997 Suburban use OBD2? This is the only reason I bought this is to get the Suburban running. Any ideas? TIA

try checking the eng-1,ecm-1,trans and gauges fuses to see if there blown it should power up
