1998 suburban.bolt above the oil filter adapter ?
i think mine was leaking coolant .the bolt i was refering to above the oil filter adapter.what is its purpous ,im stumped and dont know where to turn . at first i thougjt i mite have a head gasket leaking but no other sighns og a bad gasket.this bolt screws into the block directly

Not sure but it might be where you tap in to for an externally mounted oil filter. If it's leaking, I'd try removing and put some teflon thread tape on it after cleaning both it and the hole and reinstalling.
