Hello,

I bought a 2002 Suburban 2 weeks ago and did my first oil change on it over the weekend. I noticed what looked like an open port (I could not get a view from above) above the oil filter. It looks like there is a missing hose or connection of some kind.

If you know what this is, would you mind expanding my knowledge?

if you had oil cooler lines, that's where they would go. trucks that don't have that option have a cap to block off the outlet.
