Default 2002 Repeated Dead Battery

Hi everyone,

My 2002 has been a great vehicle since new, other than a tranny that thumps from 2nd to 3rd. But now I've got a real problem. If I park the car for more than a couple days, the battery discharges. At first I assumed I left on a light or left a door open, but now I'm certain it is something else.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Walt

Oh, I forgot to mention that the battery is new.

Thanks,

Check to see if there is a draw on the battery when shut off or disconnect the battery the next time that you leave it sit and see if it still dies.
I have seen new batteries that weren't 100% many times.

Also, I recently broke the driver side mirror. I wonder if the heating element or electrochromatic circuit is damaged. Still, this would not draw current when the car was off, would it?

FWIW my 02 2500HD is on its 2nd battery. My first one leaked about 2-3 years in. I didn't realize it until I noticed a stain on my driveway. Dealer replaced battery, tray, bolts, etc under warranty. Just last week I was having slow startup. I charged the battery overnight and took it in and had it testedand battery was bad.
(starter was also replaced under 36K warranty)
