Default 2002 Suburban, a/c chirping noise

Hi, first post here, because I've never had a problem I couldn't figure out till now.

2002 Suburban, about 140k miles. This past Wednesday drove up to Baltimore for the U2 concert (awesome show) and when got there , I had to make a u turn into a parking lot. After the turn, noise coming from a/c area. When turned off a/c, noise went away. When turned it back on, a/c began to make a chirping noise, no noise for a few seconds, then chirping, then silence, and so on. But the a/c continued to work, no problem, and cold as always.

Drove home with a/c home, notice no issues. But the small chirping noise continued when parked and running a/c. And I have notices it gets worse when in parking and I rev up the motor.

I can make a recording and post if it would help.

I've read that this could be due to some sort of belt, or a code that needs to be updated on the computer it carriers, but what do I know.

Also own an 1983 Mercedes 240D, so if you have any MB questions ask away, much more knowledgeable abut my Benz than Chevy.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!
I am praying this is not a costly fix!!

Welcome to the forum,
If you have not replaced the serpentine belt I would try that first, the next likely culprit could be the compressor clutch, could be dirty or worn...

Does it only do it when the compressor is engaged?

Another possibility could be the idler.

it does it when the a/c is running, and seems to do it more when revving up.

replace belt. hit it with some belt dressing, and you should be good to go.
