2003 Suburban Rear AC Problem
Rear blower motor won't run. I checked 30 amp fuse under hood - it's good. I checked 10 amp fuse in dash fuse box - it's good. I pulled rear blower motor, attached alligator clips to battery posts - it's good. I checked resistor pack - it has a 4-pin C2 connector. I only got 3 volts from orange wire to ground. Replaced resistor pack - bad mistake, still have same problem. I'm not getting 12 volts at the 4-pin connector to the resistor pack (orange to black). Help? Any ideas?
I'm going to base these questions on an expreience I had with a 94 G van. That unit had 2 resister blocks. One for the front fan and one for the rear and BOTH were in the front HVAC unit. On that model if you ran just the rear air you would burn out the resister block for the rear as there wasn't any air flow over it to keep it cool.
I've been under the impression for quite some time that the orange wires are hot all the time and pink are switched power and that not all orange are 12 volt. Some are 3 volt reference. Do you also have a fuse panel at the drivers end of the dash? You may have an HVAC fuse there.
