2003 Suburban Z71 issues and build plan
So I recently bought a 03 burb and it runs amazing. Has 194k but runs great for the mileage. I'm having a few issues with it and figured I'd ask some of you guys for a second opinion.
First off, not happy with the power. It runs great and seems healthy with no noises or sputtering at all, but it's not enough for me. What can I do to spice it up a bit? Been thinking about a BTR stage 3 or 4 truck cam and valve kit with stock or a low stall converter. Also, wanna do long tubes but don't know what brands fit with no hammering or cut and welds. I know the trans will need upgraded too, so what can I do to make the 60e less fragile. Aside from that, I'd like some mad coils and plugs along with a tune and maybe some higher compression pistons and rods.
Secondly, it's giving me a low oil pressure warning on the dash on cold start. It will stay low on pressure at 10 to 15 psi until it warms up where it settles to 20 or so. I bought a new high volume oil pump, oil sending unit, and a oil pickup tube O ring but waiting for some hometime to put them on or have them put on. What could this problem be caused from?
Third, my hood latch is ****y. It will shut and latch the first time but will not latch the final time. The hood stays closed while driving, it just looks popped. I've tried twisting the bump stops on the sides and they're where they should be. What could be causing the hood problem?
