Default Low Oil Pressure issues

Purchased a 2008 Chevy Suburban Oct 2018. Within a week, the lifters had to be replaced....for it to happen again within 2 days. Did a little research and convinced the mechanic to disable the Active Fuel Management system. They did a half-a** job and from the time I got the Suburban back, it had a slight ticking sound coming from the engine....mechanic informed me that "older Chevy vehicles do that". Suburban has not been driveable for a few months now as within 5 minutes of driving the warning alarm goes off and the dash informs me the oil pressure is low and to shut off engine.

My question is: could the 2 be related? I've already changed the oil, filter, and oil pressure sensor and nothing has helped so far. Just trying out figure out what's going on with the truck before having to spend and arm and a leg to basically play trial and error.

Low oil pressure can be a few things, either low oil level to worn engine bearings.

For over a year our 2005 Yukon Denali (6.0 engine) has upon morning starts had the warning words and chimes about low oil pressure, but within seconds of starting theoil pressure gauge reads fine. Mrs. Cusser has 228K on the engine, and the warnings go away and oil pressure reads normal. A year ago the mechanic said wasn't worth replacing the sending unit, and to trust the oil pressure gauge. The engine in her Yukon has NOT self-destructed !!!
