ive done a used motor swap on a chevy tahoe 5.3 liter. orginal motor-250,000 miles and salvage yard is 103,000
we changed motor and transmission.
dont understand but salvage motor was a 2005 supposedly but injectors,plastic intake, were different than my orginal equipment and so was the injector plug ins.
so couldnt use wiring harness that came with the salvage motor, ended up switching intakes,fuel rail,injectors and installing back my original wiring harness.
1st set of problems weve encountered is when 1st truned key on after install, no cluster lights came on or gas gauge,battery monitor, but only engine light. IT DID start!!!
but during test run, it died a few times, but started immeditly back up. after set over night, would turn over but again no gauges,lights and now no fuel pump, cant hear it running and did fuel pressure test and no pressure.
it will start sometimes now, but intermiddiete. and when it does start, thats when the gauges will come on after start.
ive read the chilton manual and cant understand thier wiring diagram. need to know what set of wiring harness operates the majority of lights and gaugues when key is in start positioon and fuel pump?
