Default 2004 Suburban A/C Problems

I have a 2004 Suburban that is having A/C problems. Specifically, the drivers side will switch to hot while the A/C is on. Only way to fix is stop car turn off and hope it resets. Is this a computer chip problem? Can I fix it myself.

Any help is appreciated.

sounds like a vent door actuator problem,, yes you can repair it yourself but i think you have to remove the dashboard to get at it.. you may want to verify this... does the ac come out any vents at all?
