Default 2004 Tahoe Day Break lights not working

I have recently purchased a 2004 Tahoe. just noticed that the rear day lights are not working, this is when I have the lights on auto or on the on position. Brake lights do engage when I press on the brakes. the guy I got it from added a rear camera. did some horrible wiring jobs on it, so I assume there's some problems with the wiring. Fuses are all good.

Are there any suggestions on what might be causing the lights to not turn on during the day or night? I have yet to check to see if wires are cut anywhere else. figured it could be a harness as well. but not too savvy on the wiring aspect. any help would be greatly appreciated.

PO probably powered the camera from the tail lights and messed something up.

i was thinking that too. but the camera is hooked up the the reverse light power. i checked volts and amps and when i had the lights turned on. the lights still wouldn't turn on, but i had about 6 amps coming through the connector for the bulb. but volts on the same connector was under .1.

is that with the bulb in it, or without?
Did you try a new bulb?

bulb out. bulb does work when pressing the breaks.

i checked the fuse box again, RRPark, LRPark and Park LP all had 0 amps running through it.

where did you have your probe tips? on the two terminals of the socket?

Try putting your negative probe on some bare chassis metal. Then touch your positive probe to each socket terminal and measure voltage.

for checking the socket i did have a prong on each side of it. switched the prongs to make sure i was getting them on the right side. but still wasn't getting anything.

yeah, thats exactly what i tried. i made sure i tried it on a few different places on the chassis to make sure i wasn't getting a bad reading. but trying all 3 of those sockets for the fuses and got nothing out of each one.

so you have 0.1V on each one? measured between chassis and the terminal? That's with the lights on?

If they're both grounded, then I can't understand how you got 6A. How did you measure it?
