2004 Tahoe - Keyless Lock/Unlock "Unwanted"Feedback
I have an '04 Tahoe that has recently begun some weird behavior: The hornhonks when locking/unlocking remotely, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THAT DISABLED in the DIC).
Lately, it seems that it is adding more horn honks as time goes on. I think it's up to 4 or 5 honks now when I use the remote to lock or unlock the doors. Anybody heard of that? Is there a way to clear the whole DIC and start it over? I thought maybe disconnecting the battery for an hour or so might help. I haven't tried that yet. Any thoughts? Thanks!
(I had entered this post in the General Tech area too, then realized this might be a more appropriate spot, sorry for it being in two places...)

That is an unusual problem.
Does it act the same if you enable RKE feedback in the DIC?
First try disconnecting the positive (+) battery cable and touching it to the negative (-) side battery post for 5 seconds, this will completely drain the electrical system and reset the modules.
If this fails to fix the issue then have the dealer reprogram the driver and passenger door modules.

I guess I'm not familiar with the term "RKE". As far as the Remote Lock/Unlock feedback stuff goes, I have cycled through all of the options ("LAMPS/HORN/BOTH/OFF", etc.) at one point or another and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
By the way, the business I mentioned in my post about multiple honks each time is not consistent. Sometimes it's just one honk, like you'd expect if you actually had it validly enabled within the DIC (which I don't...)
I appreciate the info! I'll try the postive battery cable trick to reset the system.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

I actually had the same problem on my 2004 Avalanche... Never thought to have it fixed or looked at. There were other higher priority issues at the time.
Wow, I thought I was alone in the universe on this one! I have looked all over the place; forums, web, etc. and hadn't really had any luck finding anyone who had ever experienced this.
Good to know there is someone out there who can understand my plight!
(I agree that, in the grand scheme of things, there are higher priorities than this little issue, but I was just concerned that this might be indicative of larger problem with the ECM, etc.)
