Default 2005 Suburban LT towing advice

Hello everyone!

I drive a 2005 Suburban LT, 4x4 with the 3.42 rear end, 5.3 vortec, 84k miles, external trans cooler, brake controller. I’ll be running a equalizer/ sway bar. I'm looking to upgrade from a popup to a 4850 lb travel camper. We have 3 kids and their safety is my main concern. I'd tow in trailer mode and in gear 3, always taking my time. Thoughts on this size and weight of a towable? Have you towed something similar in weight? How was it?

Camper specs
23ft long

Dry Weight: 4,842 lbs.
Hitch Weight: 612 lbs.

Thank you! Cheers

Run your RPO codes, the ones on the label in the glovebox, to see how your truck was built. It will describe the spring and brake package that it was built with as well. Does it have a factory tow package also as it is a must for that big of a trailer. Not a big deal with a light popup but yes with a heavy trailer as the tow package includes heavy duty cooling.
Dry weight of a trailer is not even close to the real weight as batteries, propane, water, options etc. are not included in that weight. You will need an equalizing hitch for sure with that high tongue weight.
