Tahoe & SuburbanThe power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.
Just picked up this week a 2011 Yukon XL Denali with 73K to replace Mrs. Cusser's 2005 Yukon XL Denali with 235K.
Anyway, while she was cleaning out the 2005 to get it ready for sale, she said she tried to lower the passenger side 2nd row door window, but it wouldn't go down. Later when she closed the door, the window fell down/in. I'll be looking at this tomorrow. The motor does run, but the window won't rise. About 7 years ago, the driver side 2nd row door window wouldn't rise, and I took off the door panel and installed 2 sheet metal screws to hold it up, as in Arizona the windows rarely get lowered, the AC is usually on, or the heater. Funny, the windows in both front doors got used tons more, and those still work fine. I doubt anyone has tried to lower the 2nd row doors EVER in the last few years.
Anyway, I'll be pulling that 2005 door panel tomorrow !
Looks like the window is broken in same way as the corresponding left window, like a specialty plastic clip broke. So since we will be putting up for sale this week, I just raised the window and used two pieces of metal bracket and rivets to hold the window up. Should a new owner want to fix properly, the rivets can imply be drilled out.
I'm sure someone experienced with these and having the right parts could fix both in under half an hour.
I listed the 2005 Yukon XL Denali with 235K on Craigslist yesterday afternoon, and started getting inquiries within a few minutes (including some scam inquiries).
