Default Rear window exploded - 2005 Yukon

Yesterday, all by itself, the rear hatch window exploded, and also damaged the garage door.

Apparently, exploding GM windows is not uncommon. https://www.carproblemzoo.com/gmc/yu...s-problems.php

Anyway, this is one of the two vehicles that has full glass coverage, so getting fixed Monday afternoon for no cost. Fixing the garage door (bent) is a maybe, might need a new door. It's always something !

Amazing! Guess we traded our 05 suburban in just in time - I have heard of sunroofs blowing but never windows.
Were you lucky enough to witness the event?

Nope; didn't see it, no one heard it either. Was parked in garage at the time with garage door open. We never open the little hatch window, just the full hatch.

For the record:
1. We had glass insurance included on that 2005 Yukon, and the rear window was replaced by a local glass company at no charge in less than an hour. They had no issues getting a window, small town of about 15,000.

2. Mrs. Cusser "got nervous" when the odometer hit like 230K; so we sold that Yukon in two days through Craigslist. Mrs. Cusser now has a 2014 Yukon with 6.2 engine (the 2005 had 6.0) to use (just hit 100K, miles not dollars !!!), and she tows two horses/trailer sometimes. Nice that she now has backup camera, and automatic warnings - she needs that !!!!
