2006 Suburban 2500 4x4 Stud #1 blown fuse
Greetings, found the 40 amp fuse in stud#1 blown. The manual just says “auxiliary power”.
Stud #2 says “accessory power/trailer wiring brake feed. (Under hood fuse block)
looking for wiring diagram or knowledge of where to start tracking this down.
I did tow this burb 4 down for several years (for reference?) but now I tow a trailer. I figured stud #2 takes care of the trailer brakes?
Drove it the other day and it all seems to be working.
Found a diagram that confirms stud #2 goes to trailer brake controller.
Stud #1 goes to;
“without VD1 goes to “trailer connector”
“with VD1 goes to trailer tow.
What is VD1 ?
Is this talking about my 7 pin connector has a short or something on the trailer is bad?
could use some direction. Thanks
well I found VD1 is an rpo code (you find them in your glove box) and it has something to do with overseas. So my burb is “without” vd1 which means stud #1 goes to my trailer 7 pin connecter.
I tested continuity from the outside pin of stud 1 and the #1 pin on the 7 pin and thats it. I also checked to see if I had a dead short by checking it to ground. After checking all the pins I put a new 40 amp fuse in stud1 and then checked all the lights and I am back in good shape.
edited this in case someone has same problem, maybe this will help.
Now I will check out the trailer to find out why this thing blew in the first place.
7 pin connecter. Looking straight at it 1 is at about 1 o'clock. Just go around in sequence until #6. #7 is the one in the middle.
1 is hot
2 is right blinkers/brake lights
3 is brake control
4 is ground
5 is left blinkers/brake lights
6 is running lights
7 is reverse lights
good luck and God bless
