2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 4 WD. Low oil pressure warning comes on. Stop engine warning comes on. Check engine light comes on. Some ticking noise is heard. What are some ways to check out a fix for this

I'd start with checking the oil dip stick

Is it "decent" oil? When was it changed? Has it had regular oil changes?

What mileage on motor and what is your oil pressure reading on the gauge? Sounds like it's time to tow it to a reputable mechanic vs running it anymore.

First of all you need to decide what your goal is. Your motor has 200,000 miles which is a pretty good run. Are you planning on keeping it until you get 250,000 miles? Or perhaps 300,000 miles? Given the long run, I would recommend switching to 10W-40 oil and then start planning on getting a new or low mileage truck.

If the oil pressure does’t improve you might want to change your oil pressure sensor and screen.
