Default 2007 Chevy Tahoe Air Conditioning Not Working

Hi, my A/C is blowing only warm air. The clutch kicks in every 20 seconds or so and then out again. I bought a recharge kit and connected the quick-coupler to what I figure is the low side port (see picture). The pressure with the engine off is already in the "yellow" on this gauge which seems to be around 55psi. Is the system low on refrigerant? What should I do next?

Thanks!!!

Default Am I on the low side of the A/C?

I thought so too, but assuming I'm on the low side (if anyone knows from the picture?) and it's reading 55psi, wouldn't the pressure increase if I turn it (the A/C) on? 55psi is already in the yellow, the red zone would possibly rupture the can.

Does anyone know if I'm on the low side from the picture?

You see that black cap on the tubing line? Thats where you need to couple to.With engine running, ac on, look at where the guage is.

55 psi on the lo side seems a little high but is also dependent upon ambient temp. What's the high side read?

He should be downstream of the orfice, the orfice might be the issue with a high suction pressure. Too much freon has the same effect as too low freon. It might be the high pressure cutout shutting out the compressor clutch.

Hey kevinkpk, I assume you are telling me I'm currently plugged into the high side? Yes/No??

And that I should plug into the other port with the black cap on which the recharge kit doesn't fit onto? Maybe I need an adapter to get onto it?
