I like the black better. It adds the rugged look of the truck.
I looked at the part when I installed my tow hooks. It comes off easy. If you decide to sand the part, I recommand flexible 3M sand sponge. It is handy, controlable, and washable.
If you decide to paint this part, make sure you do not hit curbs etc. I had it done on my other cars. Everytime I wanted to sit in my car I would notice the scratches and regret it.
Off this topic, this part is needed for aerodynamics of the Tahoe. Did you know that 2007 Chevy Tahoe has a better drag coefficient than Porsche Cayenne?*
