Default 2007 LTZ Polished wheels

Searched to see if this was asked and did not see it - On the new LTZ polished factory wheels, are these things clear coated or can we use the Mothers Power Ball with polish to get these bad boys shining like crazy? I am looking to polish the heck out of them. Also, given the center caps are plastic, is there a chance the aluminum could be polished beyond the shine of the center cap? If so, are there aluminum center caps available?

Appreciate the feedback/recommendations.

What is everyone using to shine their factory 20's?

Spray on wash off, never dull, mothers of some sort, etc???

Wash and wax. I don't think it's a good idea to put metal polish of any sort on a coated rim.

tahoe07 nailed it right on the head.
Best rule of thumb is to; not use anything on the factory wheel finish that you wouldn't use on the vehicles paint.

Hmmm. Didnt know this. Thanks for the reply. I guess I will just wax them, HAHA. I would never have known not to use normal wheel cleaner on them.

What about the spray and wash off kind of wheel cleaner. Takes the dirt and brake dust off?

If it is listed as safe for coated wheels it will be okay but this rim is SO easy to clean with a sponge/mitt etc. The spray on stuff never gets it as clean as a little elbow grease. Don't let any of that spray on stuff sit too long on this coating. If you think it's dull now...

So then how do we get the polished wheels to look like they do on the chevy website? Should I be a butthead and go back to my purchase dealer and ask them to swap rims out until they shine like they do here?

ltz polished wheels top row on right

Mine look more like the painted ones for the LT on the lower right. Very disappointing.

Any way to remove the coating and then polish the aluminum - or should I just go get them chromed?

ltzmego,
Before you go through that just get the chrome ones. I believe they are made! If they arent there are some replica wheels that come in 20x8.5, or 22x10 and look very similar. They are more of the SS style wheel.

There is a guy on ebay who will chrome your wheels for around $600.
