Hi,
I am needing to know if you can towbar a 2007 (new style) Suburban LTZ 2wd behind a motorhome.

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ that I tow behind my Motorhome. Put the Transfer Case in "N" (neutral), turn off the engine, shift to "Park", turn key to "off" and remove it. Be sure you start the car in "neutral" before you shift the Transfer Case back to 2H, prevents grinding gears.

I do not know if this is an urban legend, but I have been told that it is not good to tow anything with a Auto Trans with out the vehicle running, the pump in the trans mission is not pumping, so in a round about way you are theoretically driving with no fluid in the transmission/ transfer case...

According to your post you have a 2WD. you do not have a transfer case to put into neutral... therefore you can NOT flat tow it. the 4WD version has a transfer case with a true neutral that does not spin the transmission in tow.

Page 4-44 of the 09 manual says DO NOT FLAT TOW A 2WD.

Page 4-46 do not tow a 2WD with the front wheels OFF the ground

you CAN however tow a 2WD with the REAR wheels on the tow dolly.

or you can tow will all 4 off the ground safely.

a lot of people buy Jeeps for behind a RV since most of them have a transfer case, and thus a neutral for towing... Since any real jeep is 4x4. who am I kidding, there is only one real jeep, the 4x4 rubicon.... the fact that they make a 2WD wrangler is just so wrong... so, so, so very wrong. but that's another story...

Thanks for the help. You can't tow all 4 down with a 2wd but I found a company that makes a drive shaft disconnect, operated by a switch under the drivers seat, that allows 2wd to be towed with all 4 wheels down.
