Same problem. Bought my 2007 LTZ new in 2007. The only door handle that hasn't broke yet is passenger side front. The first one that broke (Passenger side rear) was during the warranty period so it was covered. Now I have both drivers side doors broke and the dealer wants $300 a piece!

Being that I purchased my vehicle used and it was out of warranty, mine did not qualify for a recall for this problem. I really didn't expect anything different than that. My primary objective for calling was to input a complaint about this problem into their system. If there are enough complaints, they may elect to make this a system wide recall rather than a VIN specific recall. Very frustrating, but the more calls they get, the more likely they may do the right thing and replace these faulty handles at their expense. Anyone else experiencing this problem with Suburban? I've seen other posts on other forums that report on the same problem with Tahoe, Yukon and even on the Escalade.
