and dripping out of the seat belt assembly. Very random, no idea - has to be a seal issue with the door, right? This happened after a rain - any ideas or similar experiences?

 

I'd be more inclined to suspect the luggage rack mounting holes. You can check you door seals w/ a dollar bill also tho.

Do you have a sunroof? if so its possible the sunroof drain hose has come loose or has broken at that point....

 

it's rained twice since this happened and no water. here is a picture of where the water was

 

I would pull the column cover and see if you can peak between the liner and roof...

Check out the post above with the sunroof drain hose location, its probably leaking at that point

 

Open the sunroof, take a cup of water or two and pour it in the area around the sunroof. The water should drain quickly . If it does not the sunroof drains are clogged. Sunroofs are not water tight. After enough water builds up it leaks into the headliner especially when you start driving. This is a very common occurrence, as I see it at least once a month on all makes and models. We usually use compressed air to blow them out. Every once and awhile we must disassemble to find the other end to open back up.
