2007 Suburban No XM Signal "UPDATED"
Hi guys new here although I have been reading the forums for awhile. I have searched the archives but still cannot find a solution to my problem. I just bought the truck recently however I cannot get the XM to receive a signal no matter what channel not even the preview channel. I do get the Radio ID on channel 0 but all other channels list No XM signal.
I have checked the connection behind the glove box it looks good. I checked the connection above the headliner on drivers side it looks good as well. Are there any other connections to check? Is there anyway to test to make sure the antenna is receiving a signal? I am about ready to take it to the dealership however wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks for the help guys!

Welcome to the forum. Where are you located? When I was on Oahu on travel, for example, the rental vehicle had the XM radio but I couldn't get signal. It turns out, there's no satellite coverage.

I'm in Indiana not an issue with coverage. I believe my issue has something to do with the antenna or antenna wire. Was curious if anyone knew how to test the antenna to make sure it was receiving the signal.

I don't know how to test the antenna, but it sounds like that is it. I'd suggest (I assume you have a subscription) call XM, and ask them to reactivate your radio.

Yes current subscription and I have had them refresh the signal several times with no luck. Since I cannot even get a signal on channel 1 (preview channel) that is what makes me believe it is antenna related. From what I have found it does not look there is any easy way to test the antenna so I am going to schedule an appointment with the dealer. I will let you know what they find.

Update: After taking to dealership they said it was the antenna but I was not 100% convinced. Finally I found a diagram that showed me that there are 3 connections for the antenna. 1.) behind glovebox at the xm receiver 2.) behind the headliner above the drivers side sunvisor and 3) passengers side under the dash cover next to the defrost vent. You have to remove the side pillar cover then this piece snaps out. Sure enough the antenna was unplugged in this location.
Good news is that I now get a signal from XM and it updated all of the channels and shows me channel and song playing. Bad news is I get no audio.
My rear speakers also do not work, I have figured out that the amp is the culprit for this and will be replacing it in the next week or so. I am hoping this fixes my no audio issue with xm but I am not confident it will as I do get audio from FM and AM channels on the front speakers.
Any suggestions on no audio from XM would be appreciated. I will keep you updated.

Odd that you can get audio from the FM/AM radio. It may be an antenna issue. You stated the dealer said it was the antenna, but did they offer a fix? Have you considered having them look at it? Keep us up to date!
