2007 Tahoe CD-Changer
Hello,
I just joined the forum and bought a new Black Tahoe recently. I have about 1600 miles on at this time. Just last week my cd player stopped playing a cd in the middle of the song. I could not do anything unitl the next day when I was able to eject the 5 cds' I had and made sure they were good. They are a mixture of cd-r and regular store bought cds'. The cd-r do not have a label just like the manual says because a label could get stuck. I placed the cds' back and after playing seveal songs the same thing happened again but this time no luck in getting the cds' out.
I took it to the dealer and they have ordered a new cd changer/player.
I also had a problem with the rear window trim on the rear doors. I after reading all the post on this forum I am not surprised.
Question: Has anybody had any problems with the cd changer/player? Do you all use mainly store bought cds or do you all use cd-r?
Before I forget this is a great forum and have learned a lot.
Regards,

I got a called from the dealer. They have a new changer and new rear window trims. They will be installed tommorrow. I hope I have no more problems with either. It looks like my cd changer problem may be an isolated situation since I have not seen anybody place a post about it on the forum before.
I had the exact same problem. It's happened to me twice and I'm pretty sure each time I had only store-bought CDs in the player. I tried turning off the car and turning it on again, but no luck. Eventually, after being stopped for a while, it started working again. I haven't told my dealer about it because it's been a few weeks since it happened.
We have an '03 Trailblazer and just today we had to bring it into the dealer for the third replacement of the radio because of a stuck CD. The first time, the CD was actually a CD on one side and DVD on the reverse side - it felt a little thicker than regular CD's and that may have led to it becomming stuck. The second time was a store-bought CD and I believe there's a CD-R (with no label) stuck in there now. Of course the dealer says they've never seen any problems with stuck CD's. We're going to fight for extending the warranty on the stereo since we've had to have it replaced 3 times in 3 years.
On a somewhat related note... will any aftermarket units integrate with the steering wheel stereo controls? I asked a rep at Crutchfield and he didn't think so.
Thanks,
Mike

I beleive alpine and kenwood make adapters that hook into yor vehicles steering wheel radio controls to keep them functioning. If memory serves it is an adapter that makes your steering wheel controls a wireless remote for that brand of aftermarket radio... lemme do some checking and I will post my results for you.
Here you go, the crutchfield guys are good, but even they sometimes don't know what they have. These are adapters that you splice into your vehicle that will allow your steering wheel controls to control your AFTERMARKET stereo. THere are a few styles for a few different brands fo stereos. I personally don't know how good they are, or how difficult they are to install, i just know they exist.
