2007 Tahoe Liftgate INOP CODES 153A and 153E
Okay guys I have done a lot of digging but figure I would post up and hopefully somebody can help.
07 Tahoe Liftgate will not open or close. If I hit the remote or pull the handle thet liftgate unlocks the motor starts to open and then quits.
I had a issue with it going half way up and then closing on me and now it has gotten worse and will not work at all.
I pulled the codes with a Tech 2 and got a 153A and E. One is for a Hall Effect Sensor and the other is for the latch.
I pulled all the wires out of the top to see if I had a short but everything looked good.
ANY HELP would be GREAT. Can I change this Hall Effect Sensor or just the Electronics in the LATCH.
ANY IDEAS???

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like either the motor is getting weak, the gas struts are weak, or something in the mechanics is binding and creating an overload.

I second checking the gas struts, with the cold weather the gas is more dense and less apt to have the oomph to assist opening the gate... the struts do the hard work not the motor..
