They actually had the courage to send me a survey about how GM didn't handled my dash complaint. (Not to mention the other issues like 10 batteries in 4 years due to "Bad cells", etc.) I responded and GM's response is below. (Dated 9/17/10) Also, looks like the 2007 Avalanches have the same issue as Tahoes.
Why are Chev representatives on here telling people to contact them about their issue, only to turn around and not be able to do a thing? Smoke and mirrors? Chev is here to help (public statement), but it's not GM's problem (told in private). I've owned nothing but GM products(Chev/Pontiac/GM). I still can't believe it, but I'm actually picking up a Ford (1st non-GM purchase) Taurus SEL on Saturday and I can't wait. GM has proven to me they won't stand behind their products once off the production line and in a driveway, my support is gone and Customer Support is anything but. 'Google' the dash issue, 44,700 results found, good PR?

Sure enough... I typed in 2007 Tahoe and as soon as I started the "cr" the cracked dash came up as the 3rd listing with now 45,000 results......
and its not limited to the Tahoe as the Yukon also comes up...
I wonder if the Escalade is having issues? Sounds like an opportunity for a class action law suit to me....

Finally got the Tahoe in to the local dealer (the one who told us earlier to pound sand). After poster "Chevrolet Customer Service" setup a case #. They verified the dash was cracked and said they would order a new dash and call us when it was in. Big THANK YOU to Jeff for his efforts on this.
I am glad to see that I was able to help you robsieb. If anyone else has the same problem please feel free to contact me so I can do what I can to get this fixed for you.
