2007 tahoe ltz dash has cracked????????
I just registered on the forum here, noticed this thread about the dash cracking problem. I just purchased a 2009 Suburban yesterday that has the same problem along with the interior door handles peeling. Could someone point me in the right direction where the TSB is at for these and if they cover my vehicle?
I posted the number in the post above yours.
cmanley23 Welcome to the forum
There may be a TSB for the peeling chrome on the handles but there is nothing for the dash...
You can check with your local dealer and see what they can do for you, but the cost can vary widely from free, $100 $200, 50% to full replacement cost...
Why? really don't know, seems to be dealer specific...

I contacted GM Customer service. They were very quick to respond to me. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they quoted me a little over $800 for the repair. After GM customer service spoke with them, I wound up paying $315 for the repair. I would have liked for it to be repaired for no cost, but I was satisfied with paying the $315. I'm not real happy that a truck with 65k miles on it had this happen, but at least they took some responsibility for it. Overall, I'm happy with customer service and they way they handled the situation. Not so happy with the quality of the vehicle.
Hey,
New member to the forum, have owned a 2007(new) Silverado since 2008 and have around 105k miles on it. I noticed the cracks in my dash not too long ago. I check the TSB and see nothing about dash cracks which absolutely blows my mind considering how big of an issue this is. What kind of action should I take to get this resolved? I've got 3 huge cracks in my dash. the largest at least a foot long. wtf

Gm customer service lol yeah right. I opened a case for my 08 Tahoe, was told they wouldn't cover any repair cost or replace the door handles. They "thanked" me for making them aware of the problem and offered 10% off parts. Yeah no thanks. I already stopped using GM dealerships for routine maintenance.
As for future purchases, Ill be finishing my MBA soon and will be shopping Dodge, Ford, or Toyota for a replacement SUV/truck. It'll be my first brand new purchase ill have made. my "dream car" savings account wont be used on a Corvette Z06. ill be looking for a Viper or even in the german car market. Bottom line is I refuse to support a company who won't support its customers. Gm is in the wrong and could care less. Wouldnt **** on em if they were on fire.
Im sure there are many others who have or will do the same.

Couldn't agree more. With the constant issues I've had with the Throttle Body Position Sensor (which only requires a TB cleaning even though they told me otherwise - recurring problem), EVAP Vent Solenoid which is a simple plastic part that I bought for $70 and replaced in 15 minutes (which they said they wanted $370 just for the part + labor - recurring problem) and the huge cracks in my dash right now (also a recurring problem) I'm getting pretty fed up and definitely not keeping my mouth shut to friends in the truck-buying market about the issues I've had.
