Default 2007 Tahoe OEM Nav Upgrade

I am interested in upgrading my stock radio to include navigation. I've been doing a lot of reading on this site about how to do it. I called my dealer and gave him my VIN in an effort to buy the OEM Nav Unit, install it myself, and then go back to the dealer for the Tech-2 activation. The parts guy told me that he plugged in my VIN and found out that "It can't be done ... there is no upgrade".

Is that right? After all that I've read on this forum I am convinced that it is possible. I currently have the 6 CD AM/FM/XM/AUX with the Bose premium speaker system.

Does anyone have any information?

Go aftermarket, its better, cheaper and easy to install.
In the next couple of months my Tahoe will get a touch screen by Pioneer with a component system (Kicker) plus small amp and subwoofer, a rear LED built-in camera, bluetooth & XM radio. I will post photos when done.
