2008 Suburban 1500 Lt V8 Code 0449
Hey Guys,
I got the common code 0449 come on recently. Ive been researching and I need some help. I find a lot of information about 2007 and older models. Can anyone help me in terms of where the solenoid is and what part numbers I need to replace the solenoid and canister. Also is hose reusable or is there a kit that comes with the hose?
Also Ive read that some years you need to buy a different vent valve wiring harness for the new part to work. Please help as the dealer wants close to $500 bucks for this job and the parts are fairly inexpensive it seems. They refuse to tell me what part numbers I need. My local dealer is bad.

Please find attached a great video on the evap system and P0449 code. The canister is located near the spare tire area. You should remove the spare tire to gain access.

Thank you I'll check it out!
It looked like a good video that would provide some information on the problem. Although, it is not specific to your exact model, most of the information will translate.
I attached an image of the 2008 emission system. Item #3 is the valve assembly includes the solenoid and bracket. The part #20995472 is for the assembly. The vapor canister Item #1 part # 22963841 and the canister bracket is 15088347.
As you have noted, this is a common problem and there is a service kit to fix the problem. The part number for the kit is 19207763.
As it appears that you are not impressed with your current dealer, if possible, I would call another Chev dealer and speak with their parts staff and confirm the part numbers and problem.
It looks like the unit is located along the driver's side frame rail.

Can't thank you enough for the help and the part numbers! The correct part was the 20995472. The dealer wanted a crazy price but after asking for a better price sold it to me for $64. It is everything you need except the wiring harness #19257603. The harness was $21.
Now the new part is different and you'll need to use new bracket. It took me longer to take down the spare tire than to remove and reinstall the new part.
Amazon has the parts cheaper but I had time and the dealer had them in stock. Said he can't believe how many of these they are selling..hum..
I took some pictures and will upload later, maybe help someone out. The only tools are I needed were wire cutters to clip the old ties. There was already a hole on the frame where the new bracket needed to go. I used a bolt I had laying around.
Also here are the links to the parts:
