2008 suburban engine oil cooler and transmission cooler
#11
I added an oem tran cooler and it dropped my temp about 17 degrees when towing a 5000 pound trailer same conditions, same mileage. I would probably go with an after market cooler rather than the price I paid to get an oem put on. I have done business with etrailer before for other things and they are good to work with.

x10 Hayden is also a good aftermarket tranny cooler company

So, I got the RPO codes, with descriptions of each code (actually, my wife got them last year when we first started looking at trailers) and it appears our Suburban does not have either the tranny cooler or the engine oil cooler. I was searching on another site called etrailer.com and asked one of their "experts" about products, and he directed me to a kit that was had both coolers and the necessary adapters. Anyone have any opinions on specific products out there? I might be making more of this than I should be, but this being our first trailer, I really don't want destroy our urban tank pulling the darn thing : ) I've attached the code sheets for anyone who wants to look.

Also, don't use those plastic ties that hold the tranny cooler to the rad. When you buy your aftermarket cooler, you want one that is held away from the rad by a bracket for two reasons.First that way it limits the heat transfer from the rad to the cooler and second the plastic ties that hold a cooler to the rad transfers vibrations to the ties creating in time leaks to the veins of the rad.
