Wow, this just keeps getting better and better...

I tried ordering this part from <NOBR id=itxt_nobr_13_0 style="FONT-WEIGHT: normal; FONT-SIZE: 100%; COLOR: darkgreen">GM</NOBR> and they have it on a "restricted" list, only available if damaged from fire or theft.

Problem solved... I installed the new XM receiver (UBS), It took 10 minutes. Turned on the car and the XM Traffic ICON appeared with all the alerts! My Navigation installation is now complete. Amen and goodnight!

I have an 07 Denali, same build as you so I would like to add the XM Nav Traffic.

What is the part number and cost of the new XM module? Im guessing you just pop out the glove box and the module is exposed for removal?

Probably the only way to get the XM module, same as Bluetooth VCIM, is through an Auto Wrecker or Ebay.

Yes its behind the glove box... Here is the part#
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 475px; HEIGHT: 24px" align=center><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle>15945676
</TD><TD align=middle>RECEIVER
</TD><TD align=middle>$119.12
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

You cannot buy a used one. Once connected it marries itself to the vehicles VIN# and it cannot be used in another vehicle. The part is on GMs restricted purchase list. I had to beg my parts department to sell it to me. Good luck and let me know if you need any other questions answered.

Thank you

Gee....nice of GM to put yet another part on their restricted list so those of us that spent $40,000+ on one of their trucks cant even do a simple upgrade.

Hey GM if your listening, you better look at what Ford is doing with SYNC or your going to loose even more customers. SYNC feature upgrades are free firmware flashes at the dealership.

I am convinced that there is a different radio installed for the 2009's to allow for traffic. The Head Unit I installed is part# 20807044 which is supposed to be the "latest unit". If anybody has any other information that would help, I would soooo appreciate it.

Thanks
Isnt that part number for a 2008? If so maybe you just need the newer xm module. I saw the listing for that part on ebay and says out of an 08. I have noticed the DTS on the bottom is a little different on some Navs.
The one like yours is bolder white. I have a nav sitting here that has a smaller DTS. Here is a pic.

You can't move receivers from one vehicle to the next. Once its powered on the VIN# is bound to the receiver and there is NO WAY (even with a tech2 or dealer) to unlock it. You must purchase a new unit.

Are you telling that to me? I was talking about someone with an 07 Nav buying the new XM Receiver. Then we can tell if the older navs support XM traffic. I have seen people try to sell the xm modules out of their vettes and then the buyer gets stuck with a non working module.
I was just trying to help people with older navs know if they can just upgrade the XM for traffic. Also trying to see
if the part number you had was from an 08.

Default sync

don't get me started on the sync... it's almost enough to make me trade in my 09 tahoe on a 2010 F-150 Raptor... that headunit alone would sell me a ford...

Can anyone confirm if you get a NEW XM reciever that NavTraffic will work? I have an 08 Tahoe LT3 with Nav/Entertainment Pckg and the above part # that mirage00 posted I believe is a 2008 head unit like ReaperZ mentioned, but wanted to double check before I went forward with anything.
