2009 Navigation Unit w/XM NavTraffic GM Part Number
After searching around the forum I just wanted to start this thread as a "placeholder" for the new 2009 Navigation Unit w/XM NavTraffic and its GM part number.
I'm anticipating that some will want to upgrade their navigation units, and the question that will be asked the most is, "What's the part number?" I'm hoping that there will be some availability of these units on Ebay slowly but surely after the release of the 2009's as I myself definitely want one. (With that being said when the time comes if anyone has one to unload please keep me in mind.)
So let's try to keep all of the posts and updates for the new 2009 Navigation Unit w/XM NavTraffic right here. And if there's a part number for it already, please post!

I had this feature on a Pioneer in-dash NAV unit. If you are traveling state to state, I can maybe see the benefit, but just within your home area, it was more a nuisance than anything. It took longer for the NAV unit to start up because it had to find the satellite GPS signal, then the XM signal and then download the same traffic information each time. During the three months I tried the feature, the construction information never changed for my area (Cleveland/Akron, OH) It only showed major highway construction, nothing on state or county roads.
I didn't find it more annoying than useful.

Will theyoffer the nav with traffic and one without? I purchased a brand new unit off of ebay a couple of weeks ago and the seller stated that it is the Nav radio for the 09 Tahoe/Hummer. The part # is 25894202.

To have Nav Traffic, the vehicle must be equipped with XM, and even then, XMonly covers certain areas. Check out this link

the auction stated 07/08, but when i couldn't reference the part #I questioned him and he stated it isfor the 09 models, but that it will work with 07/08 trucks. the listing didn't state 09 because they weren't available.

Yeah, not sure if I trust that one. By the way when I did stop at the dealership they still had no part numbers for the 2009.

I was looking on ebay as well. I have a 2007 LT3 with no Nav, has the rear entertainment DVD, etc. I call the local Chevrolet dealer (Michael's) with the part number that ends in 202 and was told it would not work in my Tahoe. When I originally talked to someone in the parts department he told me that I could not just put an oem nav in because my car doesn't have the right brain to recognize it. Believe me, I have done my research! I won't take it to that dealerfor anything if all of their ee's are this knowledgeable. I did find out that I could buy the most recent nav cd 4.0 - part number for 07 Tahoe is 25974486. I just bought one on ebay for $60 bucks, brand new, still sealed. I called gmnav to verifyand they said this part is on back order currently if I wanted to order from them.
