Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 2009 suburban

Have a 2009 2500 suburban 6.0 , 6 speed . I pull a car & snowmobile trailer often. The fuel mileage is not so good & power is fair. Talked to friends they said cold air intake & headers, tuner. would appreciate any info on this subject. Would like the best of both worlds , more power , better fuel mileage.
Thanks

Power is fair? 353 hp and a six speed? My 08 2500 hits 60 in less than 8 seconds, and pulls strongly right into triple digits. I pull a 6500-lb travel trailer all over the country, including the Rockies, and have always been happy with the engine's power.

You already have a cold air intake. The air box pulls air from the passenger fender. And a cone air filter is less restrictive, which is good for airflow, but less restrictive means less filtering, which is bad because your engine is breathing in more dirt and junk.

A Blackbear tune will definitely help. Tell Justin what you want, and he'll take care of you.

Getting a tune isn't likely to help your mileage. It'll make you much more likely to put your foot into it, which negates any potential mileage improvement. I get 15-16 on the highway, 11-12 driving around town, and 9-10 pulling the trailer.

I'm with in the Burbs my 2011 2500 has no problems pulling my boat(5000lbs)or a couple 4 wheelers and side by side. The 2500 had plenty of power and torque.
