I have tried that. It made a little difference but there is still a dead spot above the coldest setting. I tried turning the key on with the engine off and the fan on the lowest setting. When it is quiet you can hear the passenger side blend door move with every movement of the ****. The driver's side does not move between the coldest setting and mid way between cold and warm. I am pretty well convinced it is the control panel and plan to order one soon. Will let you know if it completely cures the problem.

Thanks,

Kal

Default Fixed

All,

An update if that may help someone someday. I replaced the climate control box in the dash. $160.00 from Rockauto and took about 15 minutes to replace. Fixed the problem.

Great ! Got a link or part number from RockAuto so we could see exactly which part you speak of?

My part was AC Delco 1574003. Mine is the low end model without the fancy controls.

I see. I looked that up (below), different than mine, and yours is simpler so in my mind better. I think manufacturers screw themselves up with too many variations between models and option packages.

I really don't like these controls. The ***** are too sensitive. Also there is no real off. Driving down the road with the system off you still get air through the vent. The only way to prevent it is by turning on the air recirculation. Oh well it is fixed for now so much better than it was.
