2010 oil drain plug leake...

Default 2010 oil drain plug leake...

Took it in to get the 3000 mile oil change to my local garage I have used for 10 years. He changes the oil and says the drain plug was leaking a bit. He tells me to keep an eye on it... Well I just went out to the truck and I see in the drive-way (2) 14" circles of oil... F%$K

So now the when I take it to the Dealer... you know how that will go!

Anyone seen this or heard of it?

I'd still take it to the dealer, they may be able to determine if it is defective or if it was damaged via the change....
If its damaged then you need to be going back to your oil change place....or having it footing the bill to have the dealer fix it.
The dealer may just fix it for good customer service....if they do I think I'd be changing where I have my oil changed at...
Its in the dealerships interest to generate repeat customers....
either way it needs to be fixed as the consequences of oil loss are worse then any leak...

Well, what I/we thought was a oil drain plug leak appears to be this #05-06-01-034J "porosity" Rear Cover Assembly Area. Anyone have any experience or advice regarding this?

Depends on where the leak is coming from on the rear cover. Rear seal or "T" joints at the rear cover oil pan block intersection. Let me know if you have a solution yet.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
