Hi Trainwreck, here is the part number given to me by GMpartsdirect.

Callout #8 22802047 Transmission fluid cooler lower pipe

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ. Please also double check with this parts diagram to make sure its the write part. This is the same part that is leaking on my Tahoe.

Thanks!

You're welcome. I was also surprised on the price as well. But I don't think I'm going to tackle this one, lol.

The hardest part is getting that little retaining ring out that holds it in the transmission....
Do take your time and plan it out..
Do get the vehicle up off the ground so you can have room to work
Do take the heat shield out of the way so you can do it right
Do it on a cold vehicle, you will be working right next to the cats and exhaust pipes

Don't force it, if you bend or distort the little ring, it could leak or worse fall out and pump all of your trans fluid out onto the road at 70 mph...

Don't be discouraged by what I just typed above, its not hard, it requires you do it without being frustrated or in a hurry....

My auxiliary cooler kit did not include the little retaining rings, your replacement pipe may or may not come with it, just be aware should it go popping out and down the driveway, as it is probably a dealer only item...

Hey guys...

Kinda late to this party but my SubTub was at the GM dealer today for an oil change and they told my wife the transmission lines were leaking and needed replaced.

I have yet to inspect the lines myself and I plan on taking the vehicle to a buddy's shop for a second opinion.

In the attached diagram, is #8 the rubber hose (circled in yellow in my pic) or the steel line (red arrow)?

the red arrow is steel tubing. the yellow area is when the rubber hose is crimped to the steel tubing. The leak will be at the crimped area.

Thanks for the reply!

I was able to take a look at the lines when I got home last night...sure enough, the crimps are weeping.

Need to check fluid level and make sure I'm not losing a ton of fluid.

Hey type rod or anyone else for that matter. I think I'm gonna go ahead and change the lower transmission cooler line as well. So I need the part number. I don't know why its so hard to find. Thanks in advance
