Default 2011 Z71 Tahoe StabliAuto Braking System Issue

I have a 2011 Tahoe with a 6" suspension lift with 325/65/18 tires. About two weeks after the lift the auto braking would come on sometimes only when i make a slight turn to the left at about 40 miles hour. It might happen twice a day. The dealer does not know how to fix and the factory has seen this issue occure more than once on lifted or lowered vehicles. It is a shame that the company that installed the lift has a 2011 in white and has everything the same as mine and he is not experienceing it at all and never heard of it.

Can someone help!

Is your Tahoe throwing any codes (i.e. warning lights, messages on the DIC etc..)? I would start there first.

I am not sure exactly what the issue is here. Are you feeling a vibration in the brake pedal (i.e. ABS system) or more like tire rub?

If it is indeed the brakes, it could be a simple sensor replacement.

However, I would, more or less, lean towards something being wrong with the lift/tire size. Have you checked to see if any of your tires are rubbing? If the problem only occurs when turning to the left I would guess checking rub on the right front tire would be in order.

I do not know much about these types of issues, so I cannot be of much help. But, simply based on the information you have provided these are the things I would check first.

Hope that helps! Good luck!!

Welcome to the forum.

Quite possible that they damaged a sensor or its wiring when they installed the lift.

When i brought it to the dealer they found no code failure in the system. If the sensor is damage i would think that the Stablizerauto braking system would stay on are it would show a fault in the code system when you hook up the computer.

Perhaps but if it was an intermittent that the system interprets as a call for ABS activation, then just maybe . . .

Remember Occam's Razor.
