Culinary Rocks

I haven't started tearing things apart to check as I'm not sure where to begin. Here's the problems:

1) When the drivers door is open. None of the controls on the drivers door work (e.g. windows, heated seat, mirror controls....nothing).
2) When the drivers door shuts. Everything works except you can't lower the drivers window.

I'm assuming that the second point is that either that particular switch has failed or the motor for the window failed.
Sigh....
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
