Question 2015 LTZ AWD Purchase?

Can you tell me about any risks or concerns in buying this vehicle?

I'm looking at buying a 2015 LTZ AWD Suburban with Adaptive Cruise, Towing, and Sun and Destination package.

I've got an out the door price at $63,250 with a $500 deposit. This seems like a really good deal, is it? As I worked to get a good price, one of the "losing" dealers said that that vehicle was an "older" 2015.

I've learned that there's a mid-year change, which I'm told added the Wifi. This vehicle has wifi, so is it a newer one or an older model?

Appreciate any thoughts!

First it's not awd its 4wd or 2wd. Chevy doesn't do awd. I think that will make a difference in your deal. 4wd adds about 3k to the price
What is the sticker price of the truck?

The wifi is nothing special and costs 15$ a gb to keep.
The wireless charging feature is cool but not useful on all phones. The auto tailgate is hit or miss.

Overall it's a good vehicle.

Default Awd

I haven't looked at the site in a while, but I could have sworn some of the last gen (07-14) were available in "AWD"

Although most people separate AWD vs. 4WD by checking for a center differential, many people AND marketing people don't distinguish between the two.

The Escalade was AWD and didn't have a transfer case, so it also had no low range. (last gen)

As for this vehicle, the price you were quoted seems pretty good when you build the same one on the website, however with how that works vs. dealers, who knows.

All I can suggest is you shop around and test drive them before you commit. I'd say consider the competition, but Ford's full size offering is as luxurious as a mail truck. Toyota's is iffy to me (and ugly).

If I had to buy one of the 2015s, I actually like the front of the Yukon better, but that's just personal preference.

WiFi built into a car would have been cool in 2002 at best. Any iPhone or smart phone, and most iPads can be turned into a hot spot you can take with you anywhere with the touch of a button. To build it into the car in 2015... seems like a waste of hardware and $ today. Every 6 year old I've seen already has an iPhone... so why pay another provider to provide... the same service? It's not like it's unlimited, right?

Check sites like cars.com or autotrader, put in your year/make/model, and you can scan the whole US for cars and see prices.

The only other consideration is the 2015 is the first model year. You'll get the 3/36 warranty, but no amount of lab testing does what your average family does in two years.

Real World use even found a flaw on my newly beloved Tesla... the frunk (front trunk) can develop dents if you slam it shut. People close it like a trunk, not like the aluminum cover that it is... even though the instructions say to lower it, then use your hands to blah blah. that's not how humans work in the real world. Mine's not dented as I almost never use it, (and know how to close it) but in all the lab testing I'm sure they closed it just right. On the forum we are all hoping the Model X and future ones power open/close like the trunk does. the 07 Tahoe (first year) dash's started cracking like a 80 year olds skin at noon in Arizona. GM didn't even help those folks out much I hear.

If you can wait, I'd find a 2016. that should only be 3-4 months away... they usually drop in September I think.
If not, let us know how you make out!

I got the 2015 Suburban LTZ 4WD with these options:

1SZ-SUN, ENTERTAINMENT AND DESTINATIONS PACKAGE DISCOUNT
NHT-Max Trailering Package
PCJ-Sun, Entertainment and DestinationsPackage
RD2-Wheels, 20" x 9" Chrome
VV4-Mobile Internet Connectivity
Y66-Adaptive Cruise Control w/ Auto Collision

For $62,500 out the door. I'm pretty happy with it. Not ecsatic, but it's nice. More as things unfold :-)
