My new 2022 Tahoe RST has some rust brewing under the paint. Any other new Tahoe owners have dealt with this and had it fixed while under warranty? I am getting the run around! It is happening on the front fenders, around the sunroof, and at the top of the windshield.

 

How do you know it's rust and not a paint defect? Unacceptable either way, of course.

 

I took it to a GM certified body shop and they wouldn’t even look at it. They knew it was corrosive metal and had just dealt with it with another customer. They said GM paid to have the spots repaired but they couldn’t warranty their work and GM wouldn’t reimburse them for future work that would be covered under warranty. They refused to start the process with taking pictures and sending it to GM for approval.

 

Take it back to the dealer and ask them to make it right

 

I wish it was that easy. Lol Apparently, they have their own process on how to fix warranty related body work. I was hoping some people on here have heard or experienced something similar.
