EDIT: I see now that it is listed as a 2012 Disc on the website. Maybe they had not updated their website entirely, or I looked at it wrong. I am still wondering if there is a new firmware update. I typically use my GPS or Smartphone for navigation anyhow. I won't hold my breath, but I am more looking for an updated interface. That said, I can't afford $199.99 plus that ridiculous shipping price just to find out what is new. Did you order one?

The 2012 update for 2007-2011 GMT900's is apparently just a map information update. I cannot confirm this, but that is the early reports from the disc center. So apparently, we will not be getting a new firmware or interface update.

The 2012 GMT900's have a brand new navigation system that is hard-drive based. This includes the new interface (look and feel).

Default Dvd

Sold.

I should clarify;
7.0c does not have a firmware update OVER 6.0c

If you have a DVD older than 6.0c it should do the update.

I just purchased the 2011 disc update for my Chevy Avalanche only to find when I received the disc that the file dates on the disc are April of 2010 making the disc data over 2 years old. If you get the 2012 DVD: 22880386 you will be getting data that is only one year old. If you are like myself there are a lot of roads that have been rerouted or even completed in the last year that are not on the 2012 DVD. My question to all of you is how can we convince GM that it is false advertising to put out a DVD for 2012 with data files that are a year old when they release the DVD. The 2011 DVD that I received does not even have the POIs updated to reflect the restaurants what were built last year in 2011. You might not even have them on the 2012 DVD. Let alone that the firkin thing costs $199.00 to purchase. Garmin is more update that GM ever thought about. What the heck, we are only paying 40 to 60 thousand for a vehicle that GM can't even give the purchaser an up to date Nav system in the vehicle, figure that......

My thought on the Nav system is that the DVD should only cost $75.00 and be updated at least 2 time a year, with current data maps and POI's. That is the least they could do for loyal GM consumers. I am sure that the company HELM INC. is doing a bang up business of fleecing GM for the product we are receiving for our Nav systems. As I think about it I believe I should have said GM is fleecing us for the Nav DVD.
