Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Hello All,

I am looking into a new 2010 or 2011 suburban 2500.
Looking for any pros or cons.
Need a family car that can pull my 31ft camper that weights
8,200lbs loaded.
Any info will help, Thanks

The Chevrolet Suburban has a maximum trailer weight of 9,600 pounds. It also has 3 rows of seating and able to fit 9 people comfortably. Barring any additional requirements I am at loss as to what to tell you about the vehicle. You can check out a full list of specs/options on www.chevrolet.com. Or you can speak with one of your local dealerships about the vehicle and possibly ordering one. I hope this information helps you.

Given this time of year, your options choices may be limited with the 2010's where as the world is your oyster so to speak with the 2011 options wise..
Both will most likely come with the integrated trailer brake controller...
both should have the 6.0 liter engine with 6 speed tranny available
Your best buys are going to be with the year end 2010's

From Edmunds , with an LT trim and the 6.0, the rated MPG is kinda low for a daily driver, but should serve you well for towing

Default suburban

i test drove a 2500 series and liked it but i felt every pebble in the road.
it has/had leaf springs in the front. i have a 1500 series and like it alot, i do not have any trailering experience with either vehicle, but on their own they are great vehicles.

i enjoy my suburban alot. you will to.

FWIW the 9,600 tow capacity is for 2WD. 4WD is slightly less

The only con for me was trying to find a good used clean 2500 suburban. it took me 4 months to find my 07 and was worth the wait. yes they ride rough, however its a 3/4 ton rig. i have previously owned 2 ford excursions both with the powerstrokes but neither of them come close to the quality of ths suburban.
