Has anyone had this problem where you can't get the 3rd row seat back-rest in the verticle position, so it can be used? I had my seat in the closed position for a few weeks and then went to open it and it won't open. I tried pushing downward on the backrest while trying the latch, thinking the lock mechanism was jambed but no go. I pulled the seat out and even disconnected one of the cable but still couldn't get it to move. The next step is to drop the bench seat off at an upholstry shop.

be sure the seat is fully seated and that release latch is used to fold the seat up
