150 70# bales is over 10,000 lbs which is more than 3,000-4,000 lbs over the 07 tow rating depending on axle ratio and 2WD or 4WD. Might explain why you're lunching trannys so quick.

ummm yes no 1/2 ton stock truck/suv can handle this weight for much time at all
or make 2 trips at 75 bales per trip (if it isnt too far of a trip)

like we have all said - if you want to pull that much weight you need a 3/4 ton vehicle or something designed to haul this much weight. the 1/2 ton Tahoe is not what you need or should use safely in your current situation

hmmm, i have similar experience. But i'm not towing guy I have second tranny on my 07 burb LT. First one break on me in 64k, year ago. Dealer replaced tranny for brand new with 100k or years warranty. So now i'm good for another 5 years or 80k

When it came time to replace the last Suburban, I upgraded to a 3/4 ton (a 2007). They're harder to find than the 1/2 ton version, but everything on it is beefed up and the ride quality and comfort level are the same. My biggest complaint with my old one was the lack of power. The new one--with a 6.0--just plain hauls ***. As a bonus, I think I'll avoid some of the problems with the 5.3 liter engine I've been reading about on here.
