Just got my 2002 Suburban LT back from the body shop £2,500 ($4000) damage. Tornado hail storm damage (Insurance job)
. Looks well smart. Nothing to do with my question but I was wondering if the gearbox has a memory to log the way it's driven?

I have not heard of any way to check to see how the vehicle has been driven, though I am sure there are many insurance companies out there that would love to have a look at that data if it were available....
Your best bet is to log your odo reading prior to dropping it off for repair...

Millage should be documented on the service order when you dropped off the truck. Body shop shoud only put a mile or two for moving truck around thelt and paint booth. If it's more I'd hit the manager with a big WTF and want to be compensated for the unautorized use of my truck.
Thanks for the replies. Let me explain, I don't want to check up on the workshop he's a pal and I'm a lot bigger than he!;o) I have a Jaguar and it has an ECU memory linked to the gearbox and it adapts to the way you drive ie; Drive sedately and you get early gentle gear changes, drive like a man possessed who's trying to loose "The Busies"..that's the police over here, and the changes are snappy and stays in gears longer. I was wondering if my suburban had the same sort of thing. Hope this helps.
